Ira Whiskey - Brand Identity

THE OPPORTUNITY

Andy Kennedy from Ceremony, a brand strategy agency in Indianapolis, reached out to me to contribute to the brand identity development for Ira Whiskey - a bold new chapter in Weaver Popcorn’s 90-year legacy. Committed to sustainability, Weaver transforms unused corn into a high-quality spirit, turning waste into whiskey with the same dedication that shaped the popcorn industry. My role was to help bring this vision to life by creating a badge illustration that seamlessly complements the brand.

THE SOLUTION

After joining the Ceremony team and meeting everyone involved, we started with client calls to gather insights, take notes, and create mood boards. Once the vision was clear and approved, I began sketching ideas until we found a design that captured the brand’s essence.

The Ira Whiskey badge represents the brand’s deep roots in Crawfordsville, Indiana, combining symbolic elements that highlight its heritage. Corn reflects Indiana’s rich agricultural history and its essential role in whiskey production, while the cardinal, the state bird, symbolizes vitality and regional pride. Together, these elements embody Ira Whiskey’s commitment to tradition, craftsmanship, and a strong local identity.
