Royal Lord Whisky - Crest Illustration & Monogram Design

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

Royal Lord Scotch Whisky approached me to create a custom crest illustration and RL monogram that could capture the brand’s Scottish heritage, premium character, and timeless elegance. The owner had been struggling to establish the right visual direction for the identity and needed a cohesive system built around traditional whisky symbolism, including a royal crown, heraldic shield, crossed keys, and Scottish thistles.

THE SOLUTION

I developed a fully custom crest illustration inspired by traditional European heraldry and vintage Scotch whisky labels, combining intricate engraving-style line work with symbolic elements such as the crown, shield, crossed keys, and Scottish thistles. Alongside the crest, I also designed a custom RL monogram and helped integrate the artwork throughout the packaging system, creating a refined and cohesive identity for the brand.
